Jake’s story
Jake is an international carpenter who has been a local fixture since he set up shop in Crystal Palace back in 2013. Originally from Northern Ireland, Jake has been honing his craft practically all his life.
In the early 90’s Jake spent many years working in California predominately on interiors, home staging and even the theatre. With the high demand and quick turnarounds of these trades, it’s no surprise that Jake has developed a unique penchant for getting quality work done fast.
If you ever happen to pass his window on a weekend, you’re likely to catch Jake transforming some reclaimed wood into a sleek piece of furniture or simply knocking up a new display case in record speed for an item in the shop.

Jake Dunn Designs
Jake Dunn Designs is the enterprise encompassing all of Jake’s skills. It’s here that we provide beautiful, bespoke furniture designed by you and helped along by Jake. We work on a variety of projects from fitted pieces, such as built in cabinets and cupboards, to free standing desks, sideboards and more - no project is too large or too small! Each job is approached with rigour and creativity to make rooms more attractive, space saving, user friendly and accessible.
When it comes to sustainability, you can be sure nothing goes to waste on the shop floor, Jake insists even the sawdust gets reused. Many of his pieces will utilise reclaimed wood or up-cycled materials.
When asked about his work ethic, Jake says, “It’s not a job, it’s meditation… I probably need to get a job.” Jake prefers to work on his own, with the sole exception of Alfie, Jake’s 4 year old Jack Russell Terrier.
